Where pets are allowed
- Carriage roads and most trails.
- Blackwoods, Seawall, and Schoodic Woods campgrounds.
- Isle au Haut for day hiking only.
Where pets are not allowed
- Ladder Trail to Dorr Mountain, Beech Cliffs Trail, Perpendicular Trail, and the Jordan Cliffs Trail segment named by NPS.
- Swimming in park lakes, which are public water supplies.
- Public buildings and Duck Harbor Campground.
- Sand Beach from June 15 through September 8 and Echo Lake from May 15 through September 15.
Leash rule
Pets must be restrained; reviewed source states a maximum leash length of 6 feet.
Date-specific rules
- 06-15–09-08: Pets are not allowed on Sand Beach.
- 05-15–09-15: Pets are not allowed at Echo Lake.
Safety notes
- NPS advises avoiding ladder and rung trails with pets and bringing water.
