Where pets are allowed
- Places a car may go, including roads, roadside pullouts, parking areas, and campgrounds.
Where pets are not allowed
- Trails and all off-road areas.
- The river.
- Crossing into Mexico at the Boquillas Port of Entry.
Leash rule
Pets must be restrained; reviewed source states a maximum leash length of 6 feet.
Safety notes
- NPS warns about cactus spines, rattlesnakes, thorns, coyotes, and mountain lions.
