Where pets are allowed
- Developed campgrounds, designated beaches, picnic areas, and roads.
- Named parking areas: Fern Canyon, Lady Bird Johnson, Tall Trees Trail, Stout Grove, and Elk Meadow Day Use Area.
- Named beaches: Freshwater Beach, Gold Bluffs Beach, and Crescent Beach.
- Cal Barrel Road and Walker Road.
Where pets are not allowed
- Park trails.
- Ranger-led programs.
Leash rule
Pets must be restrained; reviewed source states a maximum leash length of 6 feet.
Safety notes
- NPS warns about bears, coyotes, mountain lions, Roosevelt elk, and toxic dead salmon along riverbanks.
